MCC Releases NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2 Provisional Seat Allotment Result

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the provisional seat allotment result for Round 2 of NEET UG 2026 counselling on September 10, 2026. The result, issued through Notice No. 19, covers the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS and BDS seats along with 100% seats at AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU and other central institutions. Candidates can check their status on the candidate login portal at mcc.nic.in using their NEET roll number and password.

MCC’s Notice on the Round 2 Provisional Result

In its notice dated September 10, 2026, MCC’s Directorate General of Health Services informed candidates that the provisional result for Round 2 of NEET UG counselling was available. The notice asked candidates to check their result carefully and flag any discrepancy through the query redressal system on the candidate portal before the 6 PM deadline the same day.

MCC also reminded candidates that the provisional result is not final. The committee said the result is “indicative in nature and subject to change,” and that no candidate can claim a right over an allotted seat at this stage. Candidates were told to wait for the final result before approaching their allotted college or institute for admission. The provisional result was released a day ahead of the September 11 date listed in MCC’s official Round 2 schedule, giving candidates a same-day window to flag corrections before reporting begins on September 12.

What Round 2 Covers

NEET UG counselling conducted by MCC allots the 15% AIQ MBBS and BDS seats across states, along with 100% seats at AIIMS campuses, JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal, Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, the Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia, and seats under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. Delhi University colleges, Lady Hardinge Medical College, University College of Medical Sciences and Maulana Azad Medical College, along with VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital under IP University, also come under this counselling.

Round 2 opened for registration and fee payment from September 3 to 8. Candidates who registered filled and locked their choices of college and course between September 3 and 9. MCC then processed the seat allotment on September 9 and 10, based on NEET UG 2026 scores, category and the choices candidates submitted.

Reporting Schedule for Round 2

Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 must report to their institute between September 12 and 18, 2026, with all original documents for verification. This includes the NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard, class 10 and 12 certificates, identity proof, category certificate where applicable, and the seat allotment letter.

Round 2 does not offer the free exit available after round 1. Candidates who receive a seat in round 2 but do not want to join can still withdraw, but only with forfeiture of their security deposit. Those who do not report for their allotted seat at all also lose their claim to it and cannot take part in further rounds.

Round 1 Recap

Round 1 registration and payment ran from August 5 to 15, choice filling continued until August 18, and choices were locked on August 17. MCC declared the round 1 result on August 20, followed by a revised result and the final seat allotment on August 24. Reporting for round 1 closed on August 31, after which institutes verified joined-candidate data on September 1.

What Comes Next

After round 2 reporting ends on September 18, MCC is expected to open registration for round 3. Seats that remain vacant after round 3 are typically taken up in a stray vacancy round before the process moves to state-level counselling for the remaining seats. MCC has not yet announced the round 3 schedule.
