- Visit results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.
- Open the link for Senior Secondary School Supplementary Examination (Class XII) Result 2026.
- Enter roll number, school number, admit card ID and the security pin displayed on screen.
- Submit and view the scorecard.
- Download and print the provisional result for admission use.
Passing Marks and What Happens Next
Candidates need at least 33 per cent in the compartment subject. Where a subject has separate theory and practical components, the qualifying requirement applies to each part. Practical and internal assessment marks carried forward from the main examination are not re-assessed for candidates who appeared only in theory.
Students who clear the exam receive a revised marksheet showing pass status, which institutions accept for admission. The original marksheet-cum-passing certificate is issued through the school for regular candidates.
CBSE allows a candidate placed in the compartment category up to three chances to clear the subject. The private candidate application window opened on June 30, 2026, covering compartment candidates appearing for the third chance, confirming this structure for the current cycle.
After the result, the board is expected to open post-result services. For the 2026 Class 12 main examination, CBSE followed a revised sequence in which students first obtain a photocopy of the evaluated answer book and then apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation. A separate notice with fees and dates for supplementary candidates is expected once the result is out.
The Numbers Behind the Compartment Exam Result 2026
CBSE declared the Class 12 result on May 13, 2026. Of 17,80,365 registered candidates, 17,68,968 appeared, and 15,07,109 passed, giving an overall pass percentage of 85.20, a drop of 3.19 percentage points from 88.39 per cent in 2025. Girls recorded 88.86 per cent against 82.13 per cent for boys.
A total of 1,63,800 candidates, or 9.26 per cent of those who appeared, were placed in the compartment category. That is a larger pool than last year, when 1,38,666 students appeared in the Class 12 compartment exam, and 53,201 cleared it, for a pass rate of 38.36 per cent. In 2024, the corresponding pass rate was 29.78 per cent.
