Choice Filling and Locking Process

Choice filling commences on August 6, 2026, and continues until 6:00 PM on August 17. During this period, candidates can add, modify, or remove their preferred colleges and courses based on their NEET rank and eligibility. The choice-locking sub-window operates from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on August 17, 2026.

Candidates must lock their choices within this timeframe; once locked, choices become final and cannot be altered. Those who fail to lock choices manually will have their selections automatically locked by the system at 6:00 PM.

Allotment Result and Reporting

After the choice-locking deadline, MCC will process seat allocations using algorithms that consider NEET rank, category, quota, choices, and institutional seat availability. The allotment result will be declared on August 18, 2026. Candidates who receive seat allocations must report to their allotted institutes between August 19 and August 25, 2026, a six-day window for document verification, fee submission, and hostel allocation.

Critical Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must keep all registration receipts, payment confirmations, and locked choice lists safely. Before locking choices, carefully verify college name, course, quota type (15% AIQ, deemed, central university, etc.), fee structure, location, and applicable service obligations. Do not share MCC login credentials with anyone.

Candidates who do not lock their choices within the window will have them locked automatically by the system. MCC also activated an online resignation facility, enabling candidates with “willing to upgrade” status to participate in subsequent rounds without physical reporting.

Official Portal and Support

All candidates must monitor www.mcc.nic.in for official updates, notices, and information bulletins. For queries, contact the 24×7 helpline at 7824848020 or email mcc2026@gov.in. Candidates are advised to avoid unverified information from third-party websites, WhatsApp forwards, or social media sources.

State Quota Counselling Continues Separately

MCC counselling covers only 15% of All India Quota seats. The remaining 85% state quota seats are administered by individual state authorities (Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, etc.). State counselling typically begins after AIQ registration opens, with separate schedules and eligibility criteria. Candidates eligible for their home state must also monitor their state counselling portal.
