Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 Provisional Merit List Out, Choice Filling Between August 22-24

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell released the provisional state merit list for NEET UG 2026 on Tuesday, August 18. The list covers candidates who registered for MBBS and BDS admissions under the state’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP) Round 1. Candidates can check their provisional rank on the official counselling portal linked from cetcell.mahacet.org. The list ranks registered candidates using their NEET UG 2026 scores for admission to the 85% state quota seats in Maharashtra’s medical and dental colleges.

• The provisional state merit list for NEET UG 2026 was published on August 18 for MBBS and BDS courses only.
• Merit lists for AYUSH courses, including BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP and B(P&O), will be released separately.
• Candidates can raise grievances over discrepancies in their listing from August 19 to August 20, up to 5:00 pm.
• The CET Cell will publish the final merit list on August 21, after resolving grievances.

How to Check the Maharashtra NEET UG Merit List 2026

Candidates who registered for Maharashtra’s state counselling process can check their provisional rank by following these steps:

1. Visit the official CET Cell counselling portal linked from cetcell.mahacet.org.
2. Look for the notification titled “Provisional Merit List MBBS and BDS” under the notices section.
3. Open the PDF, which lists registered candidates along with their state rank.
4. Use Ctrl+F to search by roll number, application number or name.
5. Verify the name, NEET UG 2026 score, category and rank shown against the entry, and save the PDF for reference during choice filling.

Why the Schedule Was Revised

The current dates differ from the counselling schedule announced when registration opened in early August. The CET Cell initially set the registration deadline for August 12, but extended it to August 15 after the Medical Counselling Committee revised its own timeline for All India Quota seat processes. As a result, the provisional merit list, grievance window, final merit list, choice filling and seat allotment dates were all pushed back by a few days from the originally notified schedule. What Happens After the Final Merit List

Once the final merit list is published on August 21, candidates whose names appear in it can log in to the counselling portal and submit their preferred colleges and courses between August 22 and August 24. The CET Cell will use these choices, along with the final rank and seat matrix, to prepare the CAP Round 1 selection list on August 25. Candidates allotted a seat in this round must complete physical joining formalities and submit the status retention form between August 26 and August 30, as per the counselling schedule.

Candidates who have not registered for CAP Round 1 or did not upload the required documents within the earlier registration window will not find their names in this merit list and cannot participate in the current round of counselling.
