MCC Issues Second Revision to Round 1 Schedule
MCC first revised the Round 1 timetable on August 13, 2026, through a notice bearing file number U-11011/07/2026-MEC. That notice had set the seat allotment result for August 19, with reporting from August 20 to 25.
A fresh notice dated August 19, 2026, issued under the same file number, has pushed several key dates further. Choice locking, seat allotment processing, the result date, and the reporting window have all been extended. The notice was issued from the office of the Additional Director General (Medical Education), Directorate General of Health Services, under the signature of Dr. Praveen Kumar Dass.
What Has Changed
Under the latest schedule, choice filling for eligible candidates continued until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026, while choice locking ran from 5:30 PM on August 17 to 11:59 PM on August 18. Seat allotment processing will be carried out on August 19 and 20, a day longer than under the previous notice.
The result, originally due on August 19, will now be published on August 21, 2026, on mcc.nic.in. Candidates must log in with their registered application number and password to view their allotment status once the result is declared.
Reporting and joining at allotted institutes has also been extended. Candidates now have from August 22 to August 31, 2026, to report at the college where they have been allotted a seat, nearly double the five-day window set in the August 13 notice. Institutes have been directed to complete verification of all reported candidates by September 1, 2026.
Who the Schedule Applies To
The revised timeline covers Round 1 counselling for the 15% All India Quota and 100% seats in deemed and central universities, AFMC, AIIMS institutions, and JIPMER (Puducherry and Karaikal), for admission to MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc Nursing courses for the 2026-27 academic session.
State quota counselling, conducted separately by state authorities, follows its own schedule and is not covered by this MCC notice.
