JCECEB Revises Round 1 MBBS, BDS, BHMS Counselling Schedule 2026 After Server Glitch

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has revised the Round 1 online counselling schedule for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses under State, All India and NRI quota seats. The Board issued the notice on August 19, 2026, citing a technical glitch in the counselling server. Candidates now have until August 21 to register and fill their choices, and seat allotment will be declared from August 23 to 28. The revised schedule applies to State quota candidates as well as All India quota candidates admitted through four named institutions in Jharkhand.

Revised Schedule for State Quota Seats

For State quota seats in MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses, JCECEB has pushed the last date for online registration and choice filling for seat allotment from August 19 to August 21, 2026. Editing of already-filled choices, if required, will also take place on August 21, along with fresh registration and choice filling, instead of the earlier date of August 20.

Seat allotment and downloading of the provisional seat allotment letter will now happen between August 23 and August 28, 2026, a day later than the earlier window of August 22 to 28. Document verification and admission at the allotted institute remain unchanged at August 23 to 28, 2026.

Revised Schedule for All India Quota Seats

The Board has also revised the Round 1 counselling schedule for All India quota MBBS seats in four colleges: Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College and Hospital, Palamu; Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital, Seraikela-Kharsawan; Sido Kanhu Medical College and Hospital, Dumka; and Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Khunti. The last date for online registration and choice filling moves from August 20 to August 21, 2026, and seat allotment shifts from the August 22–28 window to August 23–28, 2026. Document verification and admission stay unchanged at August 23 to 28, 2026.

The identical revision applies to All India quota BDS seats at Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Garhwa, run under Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa.

Re-Registration Required, No Fresh Fee for Existing Candidates

Candidates who have already registered and paid the online counselling fee and security deposit for Round 1 are not required to make the payment again. However, JCECEB has made it mandatory for all such candidates to re-register once on the online choice-filling portal to take part in Round 1 choice filling under the revised schedule.

Earlier Advertisements Stand Modified

JCECEB stated that Advertisement Nos. JCECEB/46/26-47 (dated August 6, 2026), JCECEB/46/26-52 and JCECEB/46/26-53 (both dated August 8, 2026) stand modified to the extent of the revised dates. All other terms and conditions in those advertisements remain unchanged. The notice was issued by the Officer on Special Duty by order of the Controller of Examinations and is available on the Board’s website under the “Important Notice” column.
