The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat vacancy list for Round 2 of NEET UG counselling 2026, along with the registration schedule, choice filling and seat allotment. The vacancy list, covering MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing seats, was uploaded on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in, on September 3.

Key Highlights
- MCC has published two separate documents: the Virtual Vacancy list and the Clear Vacancy list for Round 2 of UG counselling 2026.
- The vacancy list runs into a seat-wise matrix listing every institute, quota, course and category, running to more than 260 pages.
- Registration for Round 2 is open from September 3 to September 8, 3 PM.
- Choice filling and locking closes on September 9 at 10 AM.
- Seat allotment result will be declared on September 11.
- Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 must report to their allotted college between September 12 and September 18.
- All candidates, including those who filled choices in Round 1, must submit fresh choices for Round 2. Choices from Round 1 do not carry forward.
What The Vacancy List Contains
The Round 2 vacancy list is a state-wise and institute-wise seat matrix. For each medical, dental or nursing college, it lists the quota (such as All India Quota, state quota or deemed university seats), the course (MBBS, BDS or BSc Nursing), the reservation category (Unreserved, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and their PH sub-categories), and the number of seats available in that category.
MCC has released the vacancies in two categories. Clear vacancies are seats that were never allotted in Round 1. Virtual vacancies are seats that opened up after Round 1, largely because candidates who were allotted a seat chose to move to another college or course through the upgrade option, or did not report for admission. Both lists have been published for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing seats across states and union territories, including central institutions such as AIIMS and JIPMER, deemed universities, and central universities such as BHU and AMU.
Candidates are advised to download the vacancy list from the MCC website and check the seat availability for their preferred colleges before filling choices, since seat numbers vary significantly by category and institute.
