MCC Added New Round 2 Seats for NEET UG 2026
MCC released the newly added seats list as part of its Round 2 counselling process for NEET UG 2026, which began on September 3. The addition takes the total number of All India Quota, central institute and deemed university seats available in Round 2 higher, giving candidates more options before they lock their choices.
Of the 659 seats, 395 are MBBS, 125 are BDS, and 139 are BSc Nursing. The MBBS and BDS seats at government institutes are counted under the All India Quota and carry standard reservation categories, including OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PwBD. Seats at deemed universities are open-category, self-financed or NRI-quota seats.
State-wise and Institute-wise Breakdown
- Arunachal Pradesh: Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Naharlagun, added 15 MBBS seats under the All India Quota.
- Assam: Bongaigaon Medical College added 15 MBBS seats under the All India Quota.
- Delhi: Two central nursing colleges added a combined 139 BSc Nursing seats for female candidates.
- College of Nursing Florence Nightingale (GTB Hospital) added 77 seats, and
- College of Nursing LHMC (Lady Hardinge Medical College) added 62 seats, split across Delhi NCR, All India and CW quota categories.
- Gujarat: Government Dental College and Hospital, Ahmedabad, added 18 BDS seats under the All India Quota.
- Kerala: Government Dental College, Thrissur, added 7 BDS seats under the All India Quota.
- Puducherry: Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, a deemed university, added 50 MBBS seats under the self-financed merit category.
- Tamil Nadu: Four deemed university institutes together added 350 seats, the highest among all states.
- Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Perambalur, and J R Medical College and Hospital, Villupuram, each added 50 MBBS seats.
- Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences, Maduranthagam, added 150 MBBS seats, and
- Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences, Chengalpet, added 100 BDS seats.
Note: All four institutes list these as self-financed merit seats.
- Uttar Pradesh: Autonomous State Medical College and Hospital, Lakhimpur Kheri, added 15 MBBS seats under the All India Quota.
- Uttarakhand: Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, a deemed university, added 50 MBBS seats, split between 8 NRI-quota seats and 42 self-financed merit seats.

Eligibility and How to Apply
Only candidates who have already registered for NEET UG Round 2 counselling 2026 and are within the registration window can act on this update. There is no separate application process for the newly added seats. Candidates need to log in to the MCC counselling portal, open the choice-filling section, and add the relevant institutes to their choice list before the choice-locking deadline. Seat allotment for Round 2 follows merit rank, category and choices filled, as per standard MCC counselling rules.
