CBSE announced the conference through Circular No. TRG-07/2026, dated May 5, 2026, titled “National Teachers’ Conference (NTC) 2026 on Computational Thinking and Understanding AI.” The board has now extended the registration window, originally due to close on August 31, to September 10, 2026, giving schools additional time to enrol on the training portal at cbseit.in.
The conference builds on CBSE Notification No. TRG-02, dated April 9, 2026, which assigned “Computational Thinking and Understanding AI” as the training theme for the 2026-27 academic session and introduced the subject for Classes 3 to 8. The board has said the initiative is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, and is meant to build learners’ logical thinking, problem-solving and pattern-recognition skills alongside an understanding of ethical AI use.
Ahead of the November conference, CBSE structured teacher preparation around three components: one-day district-level deliberations offering six CPD hours, half-day expert-led talks offering three CPD hours, and regional workshops carrying a ₹700 registration fee and six CPD hours. Case papers presented at the district level are screened by expert committees, and those selected are showcased at the National Teachers’ Conference, with the board recognising the best entries under each sub-theme.
The Pune conference is organised around seven thematic tracks: foundations of computational thinking and AI readiness, progressive pedagogy for computational thinking, mathematics as a base for CT and AI, interdisciplinary connections across subjects, AI in real-world contexts, assessment and pedagogy in CT and AI, and ethics and responsible use of AI.
Registration Process, Eligibility and Fees
Any teacher, principal, counsellor or special educator working at a CBSE-affiliated school, in India or abroad, is eligible to register as a delegate or as a case paper presenter, subject to selection. Registration is completed online through the CBSE training portal, and schools are advised not to wait until the final day, since seats are allotted against availability rather than reserved by the deadline alone.
The non-refundable, non-transferable registration fees are ₹2,000 for teachers and ₹5,000 for principals from Indian schools, and ₹10,000 for teachers and principals from schools abroad. CBSE will provide lunch and refreshments during the conference; participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation. All attendees receive a Certificate of Participation, and presenters of the best case papers in each sub-theme receive additional recognition.
