Rajasthan NEET UG 2026: PWD Candidates Exempted From Physical Verification at SMS Medical College

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates seeking MBBS and BDS admission through Rajasthan NEET-UG 2026 counselling will not have to appear in person for physical verification at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. The Rajasthan NEET-UG Counselling Board announced the relief on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the day fixed for certificate verification under Round 1 counselling. Board chairman Dr B.L. Kumawat said document authenticity for PwBD candidates will now be checked entirely online instead of requiring candidates to travel to the college.

Key Highlights

  • PwBD candidates do not need to visit SMS Medical College, Jaipur for physical verification during Round 1 counselling.
  • The relief was announced by Rajasthan NEET-UG Counselling Board chairman Dr B.L. Kumawat.
  • Verification of PwBD status will be carried out online by checking the authenticity of uploaded documents.
  • Candidates must still upload their eligibility certificate and permanent UDID card on the counselling portal.
  • The eligibility certificate must be issued by one of the 62 centres authorised by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
  • Earlier, PwBD candidates had to upload the certificate online and also appear in person for verification.
  • Candidates must carry their original disability certificate at the time of final reporting and admission after seat allotment.
  • A certificate found to be fake will lead to cancellation of the seat, forfeiture of the security deposit, and legal action.

What Has Changed for PwBD Candidates

Under the earlier process, PwBD candidates applying for MBBS and BDS seats had to obtain an online eligibility certificate from one of the 62 MCC-authorised medical assessment boards located across the country. They then had to upload this certificate on the Rajasthan NEET-UG counselling portal and additionally report in person for physical verification.

Dr Kumawat said this requirement to appear in person has now been removed. The counselling board will verify the authenticity of the certificates candidates have already uploaded, without calling them to SMS Medical College for August 19 verification.

How the New Online Verification Works

The counselling board cross-checks the eligibility certificate and the UDID card uploaded by each PwBD candidate against records from the issuing authority. According to the official Rajasthan NEET-UG 2026 information bulletin, the certificate must be issued for the 2026–27 academic session under the applicable National Medical Commission and MCC notification.

The bulletin also states that no PwBD candidate will be required to come in person for verification of PwBD status, confirming the process announced by the counselling board. Candidates whose uploaded certificate or UDID card is found to be fake face seat cancellation, forfeiture of the security deposit, and legal action.

Documents Required at Final Reporting

The online exemption applies only to the verification stage. Once seats are allotted, candidates allotted a PwBD seat must still carry their original disability certificate when reporting to the allotted college for final admission.
