Merit List Released for NEET-Based Courses
The DTE Goa merit list for 2026-27 includes separate lists for NEET-based medical and pharmaceutical courses, categorizing candidates by eligibility status—General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, and other special categories. The merit list contains candidate names, NEET scores, NEET All India Ranks (AIR), Class XII PCB marks and percentages, and eligibility status for MBBS, BDS, B.Vsc & AH, BAMS, BNYS, and B.Sc Nursing.
Counselling Schedule Update: Original Dates Postponed
The original NEET UG counselling in Goa was set to commence on August 18, 2026. However, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) revised the national All India Quota (AIQ) schedule, prompting Goa to postpone state-level counselling accordingly. The DTE Goa notification states that fresh dates, including a detailed counselling schedule, will be announced once MCC publishes the revised state schedule.

Courses Available Under Goa Quota
Goa’s NEET counselling offers admission to the following undergraduate courses:
- MBBS (medical degree)
- BDS (dental)
- B.Vsc & AH (veterinary science, offered through MAFSU)
- BAMS (Ayurveda)
- BNYS (Naturopathy and Yoga Science)
- B.Sc Nursing
- B. Pharm (Pharmacy)
Important Eligibility and Document Verification Rules
Candidates appearing on the merit list must meet specific eligibility criteria:
- Caste Certificate Requirements: Only applicants with caste certificates issued by Goa authorities (specifically the Deputy Collector) are eligible for SC, ST, or OBC reserved seat categories. Candidates with caste certificates from outside Goa will be considered only in the General category for eligibility purposes, but they cannot claim reservation benefits.
- Migrant and Creamy Layer Status: Applicants marked as migrant (M) or with creamy layer status (OBC-C) on their caste certificate are not eligible for reservation in their respective categories, even if they are Goa residents.
- Income Certificate: Candidates requiring fee concession or other EWS (Economically Weaker Section) benefits must submit proper income certificates in the specified format as outlined in the prospectus.
- Eligibility Certificates: Candidates marked with “EC” in the remarks column are required to produce eligibility certificates from Goa University.
Key Instructions for Candidates
- Verify Your Information: All applicants must report to the Directorate of Technical Education in person at Porvorim, Goa, to verify their eligibility. Any discrepancies in the merit list must be reported by 12:00 Noon on August 17, 2026.
- Beware of Ineligibility: Any admissions granted on the basis of wrong NEET rank, incorrect category documents, or false eligibility status will be cancelled. Candidates are advised to exercise utmost caution before confirming their choices.
- Multiple Category Eligibility: Candidates appearing in more than one category can participate in counselling rounds for all categories in which they are eligible and select seats based on their merit and preference.
- Document Abbreviations in Merit List: The merit list includes several document abbreviation codes: RC/BON (Residence/Bonafide Certificate), CC (Caste Certificate), IC (Income Certificate), EC (Eligibility Certificate), LC/TC (Leaving/Transfer Certificate), NSC (NEET Score Card), NAC (NEET Admit Card), and others. Candidates should ensure all required documents are prepared before reporting.
Merit List Categories
The Goa merit list is divided into two sections:
- First List (NEET-Based Medical Courses): Includes MBBS, BDS, B.Vsc & AH, and other medical courses across General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, and special categories (GN, ESM, LA, OGA).
- Second List (Pharmacy Courses): Separate merit ranking for pharmacy aspirants across all categories.
MCC AIQ vs. State Quota Seats
It is important to note that Goa’s state quota counselling operates separately from the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats managed by MCC.
