The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online window for Class 10 students to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. The facility covers candidates of both the Main and Second Board Examinations 2026 and is available only at cbse.gov.in. CBSE issued the notice, “Post-result declaration facilities to the students of Class-X, Main and Second Board Examinations-2026,” on August 5.

Key Highlights

  • Scanned answer copy application window: August 5 to 9, 2026
  • Fee: Rs 300 per subject for scanned copies
  • Verification of marks and re-evaluation window: August 16 to 19, 2026

  • Only students who obtain the scanned copy can apply for verification or re-evaluation
  • The entire process is online; no offline or late applications accepted

Who Can Apply?

Students who appeared only in the Main Examination may apply for scanned copies of answer books for any subject taken in that exam. Those who appeared in both the Main and Second Board Examinations can obtain the answer book of either exam, or both. However, for a subject taken in both examinations, verification and re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book. Once a candidate selects the Main or the Second Examination answer book, the other cannot be considered for these facilities.

Process to Apply

Candidates must first apply for the scanned copy. The scanned answer book is made available in the candidate’s login account, after which the student may examine it and decide whether to apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both. CBSE advises comparing answers against the question paper and the marking scheme hosted on its website.

Only one application per step will be accepted. Students must decide in advance whether to apply for one subject or several, as no second opportunity is given once an application is submitted. Payment is accepted online only via UPI, credit card, debit card, or net banking. Postal orders, demand drafts, cheques and cash are not accepted.
