What is JEE Main 2027?
JEE Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam that NTA conducts every year in computer-based mode. It was earlier called the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Your JEE Main result also decides whether you can sit for JEE Advanced.
The exam has two sessions, Session 1 in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027. You can appear in one or both, and NTA uses your best total NTA score of the two for the merit list. So if Session 1 does not go well, you still have a second chance.

JEE Main 2027 Sample Papers PDF
Solving previous year questions is the quickest way to understand how NTA frames questions, which chapters carry more weight, and how much time each section needs. Always practise from the official papers first, because they show the real difficulty level and question style. After every paper, check your mistakes chapter by chapter and revise those topics.
NTA uploads the shift-wise question papers on the official JEE Main website. The B.Tech papers of the April 2026 sessions are already available there, and the same section is where you should look for newer papers.
| Official source | What you get | Link |
|---|---|---|
| JEE Main official website (NTA) | Shift-wise question papers under the “Question Papers” menu, plus notices and the Information Bulletin | jeemain.nta.nic.in |
| JEE Main April 2026, B.Tech, 2 April Shift 1 | Official question paper (PDF), latest paper available on the site | Download PDF |
| National Testing Agency | Parent website with exam announcements and official updates | nta.ac.in |
How to use the PYQs: First solve one full paper in 3 hours without breaks, just like the real exam. Then go through every wrong and skipped question and note the reason, whether it was a concept gap, a calculation slip or a time problem. Repeat this with papers from different shifts so you see the full range of questions.
Conclusion
JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is in January, so you have a fixed timeline to work with. Know the exam pattern and the syllabus, confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria, and keep checking jeemain.nta.nic.in for official updates. Most importantly, solve the official previous year papers and mock tests regularly and learn from every mistake. Steady practice over the next few months will do more for your score than last-minute cramming.
