Eligibility Criteria for AP PCB Counselling 2026
Candidates must meet the following requirements to participate in the counselling:
- Domicile and Residency Requirements: Candidates should be children of Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) members, children of Non-APST state government employees, All India Services (AIS) employees, central government staff, or public sector undertakings serving in Arunachal Pradesh. Alternatively, all other candidates must have resided in Arunachal Pradesh for at least three years and passed Class XII from a school within the state.
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed Class XII or equivalent from a government-recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects.
- Age Requirement: The minimum age for admission is 17 years as of December 31, 2026. Additional age limits are governed by the National Medical Commission and respective affiliating bodies.
- NEET Score: Candidates must have appeared in NEET 2026 and obtained marks above the official cutoff marks for their respective category.

Registration Fee and Security Deposit
Candidates must pay a non-refundable registration fee at the time of initial registration. The fee structure is:
- APST candidates: ₹500
- Non-APST candidates: ₹700
After receiving a seat allotment, candidates must pay a refundable security deposit/seat acceptance fee based on the course:
- MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, BVSC: ₹5,000
- B.Sc. Nursing, MLT, RIT, OOT, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Sericulture, Forestry, Nutrition & Dietetics, Community Science, BASLP: ₹3,000
Seat Matrix for PCB Group Counselling 2026
Over 250 seats are available across multiple courses and institutions. Notable allocations include:
- TRIHMS, Naharlagun (MBBS): 85 seats
- B.Sc. Nursing at Arunachal State Nursing School: 30 seats
- B.Sc. Nursing at Government School of Nursing, Pasighat: 30 seats
- B.Sc. Agriculture at College of Agriculture, Imphal: 12 seats
- B.Sc. Horticulture at College of Horticulture & Forestry, Pasighat: 7 seats
- B.V.Sc & AH at College of Veterinary Sciences, Mizoram: 12 seats
Seats are also available at RIMS Imphal, Agartala Medical College, RDC Guwahati, and colleges in Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Assam for various PCB group disciplines.
Floating vs. Freezing Options Explained
After Round 1 seat allotment, candidates must select one option:
- Floating Option: Select this if you accept the allotted seat but wish to be considered for higher-preference choices in Round 2. You retain the Round 1 seat but can upgrade if a better seat becomes available.
- Freezing Option: Select this if you are satisfied with your Round 1 allotment and want to confirm admission without participating in further rounds. You must report to the allotted institute within the specified dates.
Reporting and Admission Process
Candidates allotted seats in MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, and allied health sciences must report to the Directorate of Medical Education, Research and Training, A Sector, Naharlagun, with their allotment letter, security deposit receipt, and all original documents.
Candidates allotted non-medical courses must report to the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, ESS Sector, Itanagar. Failure to report within the stipulated timeframe results in automatic cancellation of the allotment.
Withdrawal and Spot Round
Candidates who received an allotment but did not join the institute and did not withdraw during the prescribed window cannot participate in the Spot Round. Those who withdraw their seat online within the deadline can apply for the Spot Round if vacancies exist.
A Spot Round will be conducted only if seats remain unfilled after Round 2, or if additional seats are received. Fresh candidates who missed initial registration can also register for the Spot Round.
PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Quota
PwD candidates must have declared their status during NEET 2026 registration. They must submit a relevant certificate from a duly constituted Medical Board and undergo further medical examination before Round 1 allotment. PwD seats in each category can be converted to general seats if fewer eligible PwD candidates register.
