The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has opened online registration and choice filling for Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2026 from today, August 10, at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. NEET (UG) 2026 qualified candidates can apply for MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. seats in Bihar’s government and private colleges until August 14, 11:59 pm. The Board announced the schedule through Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/01 and 02, both dated August 7, 2026.

UGMAC 2026: Free Exit, Freeze and Float Rules

Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 may exit without losing the security deposit and remain eligible for Round 2. However, such candidates must fill fresh choices, as earlier choices become null and void.

Freeze candidates must report physically to the allotted institute with original documents within the scheduled window. Float candidates need not report in person; their documents are verified online by the allotted institute. From Round 2 onwards, failure to complete document verification and admission leads to forfeiture of the security deposit.

Counselling Fee and Security Deposit

The counselling fee is ₹1,200 for Unreserved, EWS, BC and EBC candidates and ₹600 for SC, ST and DQ candidates opting for government medical, dental, veterinary or fisheries colleges. Every candidate opting for private colleges must pay ₹1,200, regardless of category. The counselling fee is non-refundable.

Note: Candidates seeking self-financed seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.F.Sc. must pay a security deposit of ₹50,000. Payment is accepted only through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI, with processing charges extra. For payment failures, the Board’s helpdesk number is 0612-2220230.

Note: For Round 2, resignation through Free Exit from Round 1 will be allowed on September 3 and 4. Choice filling opens on September 6 and closes on September 7. The Round 2 allotment result is scheduled for September 11; allotment orders can be downloaded on September 14 and 15, and document verification and admission will run from September 15 to 18.

Seat Matrix for UGMAC 2026

Government medical colleges have 1,710 MBBS seats in total, of which 1,392 are available for state counselling after deduction of All India Quota and central nominee seats. Patna Dental College offers 30 of its 40 BDS seats through UGMAC. ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bihta, has 100 MBBS seats, but only 50 come to state counselling after 35 seats reserved for wards of insured persons and 15 AIQ seats are set aside.

Fourteen private medical colleges have 2,450 MBBS seats, comprising 1,846 unreserved, 225 Muslim minority, 60 Sikh minority and 319 NRI seats. Three private dental colleges offer 200 BDS seats, including 9 NRI seats.

In the veterinary and fisheries stream, Bihar Veterinary College, Patna has 56 B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats, and the College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Kishanganj has 80. The College of Fisheries, Kishanganj offers 42 B.F.Sc. seats. Separate self-financed quotas of 8 seats each exist at BVC Patna and COF Kishanganj.
