The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has postponed the Round 1 seat allotment result of Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2026 for MBBS, BDS and allied courses. The board cited delays in the release of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 Round 1 result by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) as the reason. BCECEB has not announced a revised date for the Bihar result. The notice appeared on the official website, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in, on August 20.

Key Highlights

  • BCECEB has postponed the UGMAC 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result for MBBS, BDS, BVSc & AH and BFSc admissions.
  • The delay follows a cascading revision in the MCC’s All India Quota (AIQ) Round 1 counselling schedule.
  • MCC’s own Round 1 result, revised multiple times, is now set for August 21, 2026, per a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) schedule issued August 19.
  • No fresh date has been announced yet for the Bihar UGMAC result.
  • Registration and choice filling for UGMAC 2026 Round 1 and Round 2 opened on August 10, 2026.
  • Candidates should track bceceboard.bihar.gov.in directly, since third-party reports on the release date have been inconsistent.

Why the Result Was Delayed

UGMAC 2026 covers admission to the 85% state quota seats in Bihar’s government and private medical and dental colleges, along with veterinary and fisheries courses, based on NEET UG 2026 ranks. State counselling boards across India typically finalise their own Round 1 seat allotment only after MCC completes the AIQ Round 1 process, since the two exercises draw from the same merit pool and affect each other’s seat matrices.

MCC’s AIQ Round 1 schedule has itself seen repeated revisions this year. The seat allotment result was pushed to August 21, 2026, with institute reporting scheduled from August 22 to 31 and institute-level verification set for September 1. Because Bihar’s UGMAC schedule is sequenced after the AIQ round, BCECEB said the pending national result has delayed publication of its own Round 1 allotment.

What Bihar Candidates Should Know

Candidates who completed registration and locked their choices for UGMAC 2026 do not need to take any further action at this stage. The postponement does not affect registration or choice-filling data already submitted, and the counselling process itself has not been cancelled.

Under the counselling schedule issued on August 10, choice filling for Round 1 and Round 2 was conducted through mid-August, with the UGMAC merit list and rank card already released. The original plan had allotted candidates reporting for document verification between August 24 and 27; this window is now expected to shift once BCECEB publishes the revised result date.
