The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has activated the RESET registration option for Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026, allowing candidates who entered wrong details or selected incorrect options during registration to correct them until 11:00 AM on August 12, 2026. The facility was announced through a notice issued on August 7, 2026 (Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC) by the Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi, and applies to candidates registering at mcc.nic.in for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing seats under All India Quota, Deemed and Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and ESIC.

Who Should Use the RESET Option
The facility targets candidates who made data-entry errors during registration, such as an incorrect quota selection, a wrong category entry, or mistaken personal details carried into the counselling form.
MCC’s UG Information Bulletin 2026 states that the committee does not change, edit, modify or alter information entered by candidates at the time of online registration under any circumstances. Data pulled from the NTA portal is pre-populated and used for counselling as submitted.
The bulletin also warns that a candidate may submit only one registration form. Anyone found submitting more than one form can be debarred from the allotment process, with candidature cancelled.
Choice Filling Now Live
In a second notice dated August 7, MCC said Round 1 choice filling would be available from 4:00 PM the same day. This supersedes the earlier communication that had shifted the start to 12:00 noon on August 8 following an NMC notification on PwBD candidates.
Choice filling remains open until 11:00 AM on August 13, 2026, as per server time. Candidates who do not lock their choices within the window will have them locked automatically by the system.

What Candidates Should Do Now
Log in at mcc.nic.in, open the registration section and review every field against the NEET UG 2026 application submitted to NTA, including name spelling, category, quota and contact details. Errors in these fields can lead to seat cancellation at the reporting stage.
Candidates should also note that MCC sends OTPs and all communication only to the mobile number and email address registered with NTA. The committee does not contact candidates individually about schedule changes.
