Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee has revised the Round 1 counselling schedule for MBBS and BDS admissions under state quota seats, following changes announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota counselling. The revised notification, issued on August 16, 2026, updates critical deadlines for state merit-listed candidates participating in the 2026-27 admission cycle.
Key Changes in Revised Schedule
- Choice Filling for All State Merit-Listed Candidates: August 14, 2026 (8:30 PM) to August 18, 2026 (5:00 PM)
- Data Reconciliation: August 19, 2026
- First Round Provisional Allotment: August 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM
- Query Invitation for Provisional Allotment Issues: August 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM
- Publication of 1st Round Allotment Letter: August 22, 2026 at 11:30 AM
- Provisional Admission and Reporting at OJEE Cell: August 24 to August 29, 2026
Reason for Revision
With the modification in MCC’s counselling schedule for 15% All India Quota seats counselling process, the Odisha OJEE Committee made a minor revision to the tentative schedule originally published on August 5, 2026 (OJEE/398). This synchronisation ensures candidates registered under both state quota and AIQ processes face no scheduling conflicts and can participate seamlessly in both counselling tracks.
Unchanged Activities
All other activities outlined in the original tentative schedule (OJEE/398, dated August 5, 2026) for state quota seats counselling and admission remain unchanged. These include subsequent rounds (Round 2, Round 3), mop-up rounds, and stray vacancy rounds, which will proceed as per the earlier published timeline.
Eligibility and Participation
- State Quota Seats: Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and hold valid Odisha domicile are eligible for state quota counselling. Odisha state quota covers 85% of total MBBS and BDS seats available in government and private medical and dental colleges across the state.
- All India Quota: Candidates without Odisha domicile may participate in MCC’s 15% All India Quota counselling process or NRI quota seats, subject to eligibility criteria and applicable regulations.
- Reservation Categories: Admissions are conducted across general, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and other applicable reservation categories as per national norms and state guidelines.
Important Points for Candidates
- Merit List Verification: Candidates must verify their appearance on the Final State Merit List before choice filling begins. Merit lists are published on the official OJEE website.
- Choice Filling Strategy: Candidates should rank colleges and courses carefully based on their NEET rank, category, preference, and location. Once choices are locked, they cannot be altered.
- Document Readiness: Before reporting to OJEE Cell, Gandamunda, ensure original documents (mark sheets, domicile certificate, category certificate, etc.) and signed bond are ready for verification.
- Avoid Missing Deadlines: Strict adherence to prescribed dates and times is mandatory. Late submissions will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- Parallel Counselling: Candidates eligible for both state quota and AIQ should monitor both OJEE and MCC official portals to avoid missing either counselling deadline.
